Ancient Grey

I was inspired to paint the grey heron as these graceful unreal-looking creatures nest close to where I live in springtime. They are reminiscent of mythical creatures, something I might read about in a book, perhaps from an ancient age when dinosaurs roamed the land. They never fail to fill me with wonder especially when they float through the air with their midnight blue-tipped wings.
